Data Engineering Explained: Where Raw Data Meets Real-World Pipelines

Hey everyone, How are you doing? I am a Data Engineer, and I have been working for a long time in this industry. Yes, it is scary, and yes, there are hundreds of articles, blogs, and videos which can be referred to. But the aim of this blog is to give you a starting point for entering the world of Data Engineering. Trust me, it is vast, mangled up in various pipelines, and haunted by bad Git pushes. Let’s begin. Now, the term Data Engineering is quite simple. You have data (it can be big, micro, or from anywhere) — the 1s and 0s which make up the content on your screen. It can be that WhatsApp message you have received from your family group, or the image shared by your friends on Instagram, or the form you filled while taking out a loan which was then processed on the bank’s server. All of this together forms something called “DATA” . Or, to put it in simpler words, information about you stored digitally.
